Gr.2 placed Rajeko winning on debut last year
More Group success for Kameko
Rajeko, a 3yo son of Kameko provided more Group success for his sire when finishing an impressive second in the Al Rayyan Mile, Gr.2 at Doha on Sunday.
Already a high class 2yo, he was rated 99 at the end of his 2yo campaign and finished 4th in the July Stakes, Gr.2 on just his second start.
Under the care of Michael Bell and ridden by Oisin Murphy, Rajeko was always prominent and ran on well to finish second in the local Gr.2 behind Listed winner Al Qudra. The race also provided a good form boost of Kameko's Gr.1 winning son New Century, who beat Al Qudra to win the Summer Stakes, Gr.1 last year. New Century and Kameko's Gr.2 winning son Wimbledon Hawkeye are both now being aimed at Classic races this year.
Rajeko was bred by Kevin Mitchell's Phillistown House Stud and is out of Listed placed Archipenko mare Rajar. Rajeko’s sales price rose significantly every time he’s gone through the ring, from foal to yearling to breezer, changing hands privately for £79,000 when purchased by Nick Bell at the Goffs UK Breeze-Up Sale last April.
Congratulations to all connections- we can't wait to follow him this year!
There are only a few nominations left available to Kameko so call us now on 01452 700177 to complete his 2025 book.
