More winners for Charm Spirit

As racing continues in Australia, so do the winners for Charm Spirit courtesy of Joliette, The General and Kirwan's Lane, while there was also news of the sire's Gr.2 winner Fascino.

Joliette got off the mark in the three-year-old maiden handicap over 1400m at Aquis Park Gold Coast on Friday, beating 14 rivals under Michael Cahill.

Trained by Chris Waller for a syndicate including Star Thoroughbreds, Joliette is out of Thorn Park (by Spinning World) mare Burlesque. The Windsor Park Stud-bred Jolietter was a A$205,000 purchase from the 2018 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

The same day, The General followed up in his win in a maiden at Cranbourne with a win in a 1000m handicap at the same track in the hands of Jye McNeil. The General is a three-year-old colt out of Postponed (by Summer Squall) mare Roxon.

A few days earlier, fellow Charm Spirit three-year-old Kirwan's Lane had won a 1600m maiden at Newcastle. He is out of Savabeel mare Galway.

The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Fascino - by Charm Spirit out of another Savabeel mare in Lady Kipling - is being aimed at the Gr.1 Australasian Oaks (2000m) in Adelaide.

Fascino was another bought from Windsor Park Stud - where Charm Spirit stands when shuttling to New Zealand - for $400,000 by Maher in partnership with Waterford Bloodstock at the New Zealand Bloodstock Book 1 Yearling Sale.
