New Gr. 2 winner for Charm Spirit

Charm Spirit sired his second Gr. 2 winner when Fascino dead-headed for the 1600m Antler Luggage Fillies Classic at The Valley.

After winning her maiden in September, three-year-old Fascino had finished fourth in a Listed race and runner-up in the Gr.2 Edward Manifold Stakes before lining up against eight rivals in the Fillies Classic.

Fascino battled to the front turning into the straight under Mark Zahra and hit the line in unison with La Falaise.

The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Fascino is out of Lady Kipling (by Savabeel) who won two Gr. 2s and was placed in three Gr. 1s.

Maher said: "Fascino is likely to back-up in the Wakeful Stakes at Flemington on Saturday but is unlikely to target the VRC Oaks the following week."

Charm Spirit is currently at Windsor Park Stud in New Zealand and will return to the Haras de Bonneval in 2020 as part of a deal with the Aga Khan Studs. He stood the 2019 breeding season at Tweenhills and will return in 2021.
