Rapid Zoustar son wins 5 in row

Three-year-old Zoustar gelding Midwest won his fifth race in succession in the Ladbrokes 55 Second Challenge Heat 14 (955m) at The Valley on Friday February 25 with a devastating display of raw speed.

He stopped the clock at 55.26s.

Since winning his maiden at Yarra Valley in late-November, Midwest has also won races at Mornington, Caulfied and now two at The Valley.

He scored from the front in the 55 Second Challenge Heat 14 under Logan McNeil and he’s trained by Anthony and Sam Freedman. He carries the distinctive red and white colours of our friends Rosemont Stud.

As the commentator said: “Midwest though, 100m to go, darts clear, 3 lengths in front, going like grease lightning again!”

Midwest is out of multiple sprint winner Umgeton. She’s by Stratum and therefore Midwest has Redoute’s Choice on both sides of his pedigree in the third generation.
