Kameko - sire on fire
Stunning run for Kameko continues
Incredibly, Kameko has been responsible for six winners from his last nine runners after 2yo Rajak won his second nursery in the space of a week at Bath on Wednesday.
Rajak (out of mare by Holy Roman Emperor) got the ball rolling when making a winning nursery debut at Yarmouth last week and followed up in a match race today, against another nursery debut winner.
A few hours after Rajak won last Wednesday, Lady Mariko (mare by Kyllachy) followed up her stable debut success for Dylan Cunha with another 7f handicap win, also on the Yarmouth card.
After Wimbledon Hawkeye was a good 2nd in the Gr.2 Princess of Wales’s Stakes against older horses, the next Kameko winner was 2yo Who Is Alice (mare by Clodovil) who made all upped to 7f at Chepstow.
The most promising Kameko winner in recent days was Defiantly (mare by Galileo), who had almost snatched victory from the jaws of defeat after missing the break on debut and made no mistake at Killarney on Monday. He’s a half-brother to Gr.1 winner Buckaroo and Gr.3 winner Middle Earth and looks a very useful middle-distance horse himself.
Kameko’s other recent winner was The Kamikaze King (mare by Nathaniel) who gained his reward for going close after a break when winning at Thirsk. He’s a stablemate of Lady Mariko.
