Sunlight favourite for Gr. 1 Lightning Stakes

Zoustar's daughter Sunlight is favourite to win her second Gr. 1 on Saturday when she will line up in the Black Caviar Lightning Stakes over 1000m at Flemington.

3-year-old Sunlight has won 8 of her 12 starts including the Gr. 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes when last seen in November, in which she beat Zoustar's sons Zousain and Lean Mean Machine. Sunlight is trained by Tony McEvoy and will be ridden by regular partner Luke Currie.

Sunlight will be joined in the Lightning by Gr. 2 winner Lean Mean Machine.

Other fancied horses in the Lightning are 5-year-old Osborne Bulls and 3-year-old Graff. The race also features a 2-year-old filly, Jedastar, whose jockey Chris Caserta will have to ride at just 44kg (6-9).

As for Zoustar himself, he has settled into his new surroundings at Tweenhills very well and will now commence covering a very strong book of mares.
