The Magnificent Seven Kamekos so far

There have been seven Kameko foals born at Tweenhills so far and we are absolutely delighted with them!

Dual Gr.1 winner and Royal Ascot winner Con Te Partiro (Scat Daddy) was bought privately for U$1.5m in 2020 specifically to breed with Kameko in 2021 and the result was a filly, her first foal, born on January 30.

As you’ll know if you follow us on Twitter (@Tweenhills) our first Kameko foal was born on January 13, a very sharp colt out of multiple Stakes-placed sprinter Golden Spell (Al Kazeem).

The comments of our Stud Manager Pieter Van Zyl say it all: “Lots of quality and substance, good size, well balanced, correct, good shoulder with plenty of depth, strong quarter and hind leg. Looks speedy type, nicely stamped.”

Another absolutely belting Kameko foal was produced by Listed winner Diamonds Pour Moi (Pour Moi), a strong colt who weighed in at a chunky 64kg (pictured). The mare’s Roaring Lion two-year-old filly will be trained by Ralph Beckett, as was Diamonds Pour Moi herself.

From middle-distance mares back to sprinters: dual Listed-winning speedster Ripples Maid (Dansili) has long been part of the Tweenhills family and foaled an attractive 54.5kg filly foal by Kameko on January 21; and Gr.2 Queen Mary third Out of The Flames (Showcasing) produced a similarly weighted filly a week later.

Out of The Flames’ first foal, a two-year-old filly in training with Wesley Ward in the US, is a chesnut just like her mother despite being by Zoustar, but her latest foal looks just like Kameko!

Also a firm favourite at Tweenhills is another Listed-winning sprinter in An Ghalanta (Holy Roman Emperor). She’s the dam of Listed winner Time Scale (herself now a mother after having a Zoustar filly on February 8) and Stakes-placed Bletchley, as well as a “good quality” filly foal by Kameko.

The last of our septet so far is a colt – again one who looks like his dad – out of winning Galileo mare Really Lovely, whose dam Simply Perfect won the Gr.1 Fillies’ Mile and Gr.1 Falmouth Stakes.

We cannot wait to see even more of them!
