Tweenhills-bred Heart of Honor stars on Dubai dirt
A plan came together perfectly for trainer Jamie Osborne and owners Jim And Claire Limited when their 2yo colt Heart of Honor bolted up in a conditions race on the dirt at Meydan on Friday 6 December. Despite his relatively obscure pedigree by European standards, Heart of Honor was born, raised and grazed at Tweenhills.
After finishing an eye-catching 2nd over 7f at Southwell on his October debut, Heart of Honor lined up as 15/8 favourite to beat 8 rivals over 1m at Meydan. In the hands of Adrie de Vries, he readily destroyed the field.
Heart of Honor’s dam Ruby Love was a Gr.1-winning champion in Chile. She was bought for $90,000 by David Redvers at the 2021 Keeneland November Sale carrying a coly by young US sire Honor A. P., winner of the Gr.1 Santa Anita Derby.
Not only does that now look a bargain, but so does the €160,000 paid for Heart of Honor at the Arqana May Breeze-Up Sale when he was bought by Jamie Osborne from Meadowview Stables.
Osborne won the 2014 UAE Derby with Toast of New York and Heart of Honor looks destined to follow him into Stakes company. We cannot wait to see how his career progresses.
Ruby Love produced a Zoustar colt in 2023 and a Havana Grey filly in 2024. She is now in foal to Kameko. Exciting times!
