Tweenhills mare in-foal to Kameko sells for 250,000gns

10yo mare Now Or Never, or Now Or Later as she was renamed when transferred to Australia, was comfortably the highest-priced lot on Day 1 of the 2023 Tattersalls February Sale when selling in-foal to Tweenhills’ record-breaking QIPCO 2000 Guineas winner Kameko.

A winning 2yo, Bushranger mare Now Or Never won the Gr.3 Derrinstown Stud 1000 Guineas Trial in Ireland in 2016 and then, after being bought by Qatar Racing, finished third in the Gr.1 Irish 1000 Guineas. She was then sent Down Under, where she won the Gr.2 Rose of Kensington Stakes.

Now Or Never is a half-sister to dual Gr.1-winning sprinter Fairyland and out of a half-sister to multiple Gr.1 winner and sire Dream Ahead. 

Now Or Never was consigned by Tweenhills and bought for 250,000gns by BBA Ireland carrying a foal by Kameko. She had a Zoustar colt in 2021 that was bought for €35,000 as a Goffs Orby Yearling by trainer Andrew Oliver.

A Gr.1 winner at both 2 and 3, Kameko has his first yearlings this year. His outstanding first foals sold for 145,000gns, 100,000gns, 92,000gns, 90,000gns etc.
