Zoustar 2yo goes 3 from 3

Zoustar colt Metallicty made it three wins from three runs in barrier trials when scoring at Rosehill on January 31 and looks a horse destined for the top.

Metallicity was ridden just off the pace by James McDonald in the 900m colts and geldings open trial and cruised through on the rail late on to win cheekily, his rider not moving a muscle. Runner-up Psychiatrist had won a barrier trial last September before running in a Gr.3 at Randwick.

Out of unraced O’Reilly mare Captivating Claire, Metallicity was a AU$340k Inglis Easter Yearling Sale buy from Segenhoe by China Horse Club and Newgate Farm. He’s yet another very exciting racehorse by Zoustar, who is sure to oversubscribed again in his fourth Northern Hemisphere breeding season covering at Tweenhills.

Zoustar has his first European two-year-olds in 2022, including plenty who will represent Qatar Racing and other Tweenhills partners. Also among Zoustar’s juveniles are a colt bought for 310,000gns as a yearling by White Birch Farm/Demi O’Byrne and a filly bought for 280,000gns by Amanda Skiffington.
