Zoustar 2yo wins 2 from 2
Zoustar 2yo gelding Zoum Zoum looked a very smart prospect for 2024 when taking his record to 2 wins from 2 starts when winning at Newmarket on Friday.
Zoum Zoum, trained by Ralph Beckett, had shown a good turn of foot when making a winning debut at Kempton on Oct 11 and he shrugged off the penaltyto beat 12 rivals in a 7f novice on Newmarket's Rowley course.
The son of Zoustar started 11/8 favourite and proved 2½ lengths too good for Frankel and Noble Mission's half-brother Kikkuli, who was making his debut and receiving 6 lb from Zoum Zoum.
Zoum Zoum was again ridden by Rob Hornby for owners Mrs Lynn Turner and Guy Brook. Zoum Zoum's connections raced his dam Richenza, who won the Listed Boadicea Stakes over 6f as a 4yo in 2019. Zoum Zoum is her first foal.
