Zoustar colt breaks records in Australia

A Zoustar colt foal broke the record at the Inglis Great Southern Sale over the weekend, becoming the highest priced weanling ever sold at the sale.

Consigned by Victorian-based Blue Gum Farm, the colt sold to BBT Breeding and Racing for $360,000- eclipsing the previous sale record for a weanling of $310,000 set in 2017.

The colt is the third foal out of high-class mare Vergara, who was the winner of the Gr.3 ATC Epona Stakes and Listed Wyong Mona Lisa Stakes as well as being placed 4th in the Gr.1 Doncaster Handicap.

After the sale, Philip Campbell of Blue Gum Farm commented “I’m emotional about the horse because he’s such a professional horse. I’m really excited to watch him race because he’s got a great brain and a great action''
