Zoustar mare Mizzy sells to Coolmore for A$2.2m

Zoustar’s triple Group winner Mizzy, also runner-up in two Gr.1s in 2021, sold for A$2.2m at the Magic Millions Gold Coast National Broodmare Sale.

Mizzy won four of her 25 starts including the Gr.3 Toy Show Stakes over 1100m, Gr.2 Sheraco Stakes over 1200m and Gr.2 Gold Pendant over 1400m on the bounce in autumn 2019.

She also finished runner-up in both the Gr.1 Canterbury Stakes over 1300m and Gr.1 Coomore Classic over 1500m this year, beaten only narrowly in the former and unlucky not to win. Mizzy has earnt over A$1.6m in prize money.

Presented as Lot 528 by the Newgate Consignment, Mizzy was eventually knocked down to Tom Magnier who said: “She was one of the nicest physicals at the sale and we’re delighted to get her.”

Mizzy is by international sire sensation Zoustar who is currently covering his third book of mares in the Northern Hemisphere at Tweenhills; he will have his first European yearlings sell this year.

Zoustar stands for £25,000 (Oct 1st SLF) at Tweenhills but commands a fee of A$154,000 at his Australian home, Widden Stud.
