Crowds flock to Tweenhills Open Day
Tweenhills opened its gates on Sunday 8th June 2025 to showcase everything we do at the stud from foaling to stallions to our Aberdeen Angus herd – and what a day it was!
The gates were open from 11am to 3pm, with tours ran at 12pm and 2pm, and around 1000 people attended.
It was all done to support the 4Ed charity, which honours the legacy of former Gloucester rugby union player Ed Slater, who was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2022.
The charity does excellent work and you can donate to the cause by visiting the 4Ed website HERE.
As well as viewing the stud and meeting the team, those who attended had the chance to view our horses like record-breaking 2000 Guineas winner Kameko. There was also tractor rides where you could get up close and person with our Aberdeen Angus herd, pony rides for children which proved very popular and rides on a mechanical bucking horse.
Refreshments and food were available, including our delicious Tweenhills Angus Burgers.
The day raised over £4,000 for the 4Ed charity, and it was great to show members of the public just exactly what happens on a working thoroughbred stud and farm.
Thanks to all those who came and donated – we’ll see you at the next one!
