What's Werner's Beef?

Here's an update of what's been happening down on the farm at Tweenhills.

With a dry autumn, animals stayed out a few more weeks than normal. Hopefully that means we’ll get them out earlier this year too, fingers crossed.

Our 2021 PD tests showed more good results with 95% in calf.

Calves got weaned in November with an average weight of 320kg. They had their backs clipped and were vaccinated, and three weeks later wormed so ready for the winter inside.

We have just had our TB Test and with another clear test we are for two years clear.

We will now start getting everything ready for calving to start around February 10. We are cleaning the barns out and disinfecting them. Clipping cows’ ears and body scoring is ongoing. Blood testing has also been done, so fingers crossed the results will be good.

Bulls have been selling well with only two 2020-born bulls left.
