Impressive 2yo filly debut winner for Kameko
Fresh from another key result when Wimbledon Hawkeye finished 3rd in the Gr.1 Futurity Trophy, and on the eve of New Century lining up among the favourites for the Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, Kameko’s daughter American Gal made a superb winning debut at Kempton on Wednesday.
American Gal was well backed into 5/1 and raced in touch before quickening to lead approaching the final 1f in the hands of Saffie Osborne. She hit the line with 1¾ lengths to spare over the field.
She’s trained by Ed Walker, who has had an excellent season, for Dr Bridget Drew’s Mildmay Racing, carrying the colours made famous by the likes of Nate The Great.
American Gal was another Kameko winner born, raised and grazed at Tweenhills, out of Grand Slam mare Granny Franny and sold for 25,000gns as a yearling.
She looks another Kameko 2yo with a very bright future – and a total bargain!
