Stakes winner #17 for Zoustar
Zoustar recorded his 17th individual Stakes winner when filly Zou Dancer won the Gr.3 TAB Vanity Stakes over 1400m at Flemington on Saturday.
Zou Dancer had made a winning debut at Dunkeld in November and then quickly returned to winning ways over the Vanity course and distance just before Christmas.
She lined up in the Gr.3 Vanity as the $3.60 favourite under Jamie Kah and never looked like getting beaten, winning by a deeply impressive four and three quarter lengths from the Coolmore-owned Gr.1 Kennedy Oaks winner Personal.
Trained by Leon and Troy Corstens, Zou Dancer is now being pointed at the Gr.1 Australian Guineas.
The daughter of Zoustar was a $150,000 Magic Millions purchase from Newgate Farm. She is out of Strategic mare Investigates. You have to go back to her 5th generation to find evidence of inbreeding and even then it's only on the dam's side of her pedigree through Showdown.
