Zoustar colts make AU$1.3m and AU$1.25m

After Zoustar’s fillies took centre stage on Day 1 of the 2022 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, it has been the turn of the colts since as two have sold for six-figure sums, becoming Zoustar’s eight and ninth million-dollar yearlings.

Lot 375, a colt by Zoustar out of Sepoy mare Pirapala, sold for AU$1.3m from Sledmere Stud to Rosemont-Victorian Alliance/Suman Hedge Bloodstock (FBAA)/David Redvers Bloodstock.

Pirapala is a half-sister to Gr.1 winner Instant Celebrity. Just as significantly, their dam is a half-sister to the dam of Leviathan, a son of Zoustar now known as Healthy Happy in Hong Kong and winner of a Gr.3 over 7f this month.

Lot 574, a colt by Zoustar out of Not A Single Doubt mare Summer Sham, also went the way of Rosemont-Victorian Alliance/Suman Hedge Bloodstock (FBAA)/David Redvers Bloodstock. He was consigned by Widden Stud and made AU$1.25m.

Summer Sham won the Gr.2 Armanasco Stakes over 1400m. Intriguingly, she’s from the family of Redoute’s Choice, who is also the sire of her sire and the damsire of Zoustar.

In between these two Zoustar colts there was another, Lot 528, who fetched AU$800,000 when selling from Kitchwin Hills to PR Funds.

Places in Zoustar’s 2022 book at Tweenhills are very limited – and it’s not hard to see why given he stands for £25,000 (Oct 1st SLF) – so get in touch now to book a nomination for your mare.
