Tweenhills 2021 stallion fees announced

Stud fees for the four Qatar Racing stallions standing at Tweenhills in 2021 have been announced.

QIPCO 2,000 Guineas winner Kameko has arrived safely at Tweenhills where he will stand next season for £25,000 (Oct 1^st SLF). The fastest 2000 Guineas winner in history, clocking the classic mile in a staggering 1m 34.72s, Kameko also won the Gr.1 Vertem Futurity Stakes at two in record time and successfully gave weight to top-class older horses in the Gr.2 Joel Stakes earning a career high Timeform rating of 129.

Kameko is by 7 times US Champion Turf Sire Kitten’s Joy – also sire of World Champion Roaring Lion – out of a multiple Stakes-winning half-sister to two-year-old Gr.1 winner Kingsbarns, from a top-class family.

Also standing for £25,000 (Oct 1^st SLF) – down from £30,000 in 2020 – will be international Gr.1 sire sensation Zoustar. Zoustar has been crowned Champion First, Second- and Third-Season Sire in Australia and has his first crop of Northern Hemisphere foals born this year with over 20 at Tattersalls December sales representing the sire of champions Sunlight and Top Knight.

Havana Gold will stand at a reduced £7,500 (Oct 1^st SLF) from £10,000. Amongst Havana Gold’s 15 Stakes performers are Gr.1-winning sprinter and sire Havana Grey and 2020’s Group-winning sprinter Tabdeed. Havana Gold has his biggest crop of over 140 yearlings going into training this year.

Champion older miler and Gr.1 Sussex Stakes winner of 2018, Lightning Spear, remains on £5,000 (Oct 1^st SLF) following his outstanding first crop of foals.

“Zoustar continues to enhance his already heady reputation and it is a real coup for European breeders to have such an exceptional young sire standing here again in 2021. The reviews his first crop of Northern Hemisphere foals are receiving match our expectations and I’m really looking forward to seeing his first commercial offerings at the end of the month.

“Havana Gold’s best crop of yearlings to date sold very well and we expect him to make a massive impact on the racecourse next summer. Kameko, Havana Gold and Lightning Spear will be paraded for breeders at Longholes Stud in Newmarket during the Tattersalls December Mare Sale, Covid protocols allowing.
